From a personal passion project to the most feature-rich balloon design software in the industry. Here's every milestone — and when it was first introduced.
BalloonBuilder started in 2014 as a personal experiment — born from curiosity at the intersection of 3D design and code. The goal was simple: generate realistic balloon mockups faster than doing them by hand. From 2018 forward, as balloon decorating became a bigger part of the business, development shifted to building a serious production tool — one that could handle real client projects with speed and precision. After hearing from seasoned industry professionals that existing software was underpowered — sometimes taking hours to design a single balloon wall — the decision was made in 2024: this tool needed to be available to everyone.
The entire year was dedicated to transforming a powerful but personal tool into software that any balloon professional could pick up and use immediately. The user interface was finalized, workflows were streamlined, and the remaining refinements were shaped by direct feedback from early test users.
BalloonBuilder.com launched privately to a select group of early adopters — already packed with features never before seen in balloon software: real-time 3D engine, 2D/3D split view, automapping, balloon walls with double wall functionality, columns, arches, organic garlands, precision calculators, professional exports, and over 15 design modes.
BalloonBuilder.com goes live. Instant 3D design for arches, columns, organic installs, and complex walls. Real balloon colors, automatic recipes with exact counts and pump timer settings, and professional proposal exports — all from day one.
Within days: 90° rotated alternate size packs, grid wall export as separate link chains, independent front/back automapping for double walls, and independent coloring for double wall tunnels.
