Plan helium bouquets and balloon ceilings in 3D
BalloonBuilder’s balloon bouquet designer builds a helium bouquet layer by layer with real balloon sizes, ribbon lengths and a foil or bubble top, or fills a ceiling with balloons on ribbons so you see the room from below. Every design gives you a bill of materials with the exact balloons to order.

Balloon Bouquet Ideas
Four helium balloon bouquets built in the balloon bouquet designer, each a straight export from the app. Use them as a starting point: change the colours, the number of balloons or the top, and the bill of materials follows.
Number balloon bouquet
Nine 12″ latex balloons in three layers of three in Sempertex Fuchsia, Reflex Pink and Pink, a 40″ foil number on top, pink curled ribbons and a small balloon base on the weight. A classic birthday bouquet.
Foil star bouquet
Nine 18″ foil stars in three layers of three with a 36″ star on top, in black, gold and silver. Foil tops and foil bouquet balloons come in their real product sizes.
Organic balloon bouquet
Thirty 30 cm latex balloons gathered into a loose teardrop, with the colours (fuchsia, orange, yellow, Caribbean blue, lime and violet) mixed at random. Press Create again for a new arrangement until the spread looks right.
LED bubble balloons on the floor
Clear bubble balloons with an LED string that runs up the ribbon and around the bubble, anchored on a small balloon base at the floor: warm white on the left, RGB on the right. In the designer you set the LED colour (warm, cool or RGB), how many times the string wraps the bubble, and the brightness.
Bubbles can also hold small 5″ round balloons inside, in your own mix of colours.
How to Make a Balloon Bouquet
Most helium balloon bouquets are either a spiral bouquet of 3, 5 or 7 balloons, or a layered bouquet with 2, 3 or 4 balloons per layer, often finished with a top balloon. Bouquets are usually made with 11″ or 12″ latex, depending on the manufacturer.
- Inflate the balloons with helium and tie them directly into ribbons, sized evenly so the bouquet stays even.
- Pre-cut the ribbons to full length (leave some extra for tying and curls).
- Build it layer by layer. In a spiral bouquet each balloon just touches the next one. In a layered bouquet each layer slides into the gaps of the layer below, which gives a tight fit. Adjust the gaps in every layer until it sits well.
- Tie the layers together and fix the bouquet to the weight.
- Finish: cut off the extra ribbon and curl the ribbons that remain.
The balloon bouquet designer follows the same rules: it sets the ribbon length for every balloon, nests the layers into each other and lists the ribbon and helium you need. For helium tank sizes, use the free helium calculator.

Balloon Bouquet Designer — Frequently Asked Questions
How many balloons are in a balloon bouquet?
A spiral bouquet usually has 3, 5 or 7 balloons. A layered bouquet has 2, 3 or 4 balloons per layer, often with a top balloon such as a foil star, a number or a bubble. See the balloon bouquet ideas above for examples.
What size balloons are used for helium bouquets?
Bouquets are usually made with 11″ or 12″ latex balloons, depending on the manufacturer, with a larger foil, bubble or latex balloon on top. In the designer you set the inflated size in centimetres or inches.
Do the balloon sizes match real inflated balloons?
Yes. Sizes are the inflated diameters you set in centimetres or inches, and the 2D silhouettes are traced from the same 3D balloon models the designer renders, nozzle and knot included. Foil tops use the fixed product sizes of the real Grabo balloons.
Can I use my own product colours?
Yes. The palette library covers Sempertex, Kalisan, TufTex and Gemar colours with their finishes, and you can save your own palettes.
Is the balloon bouquet designer a separate app from the column and arch designer?
No. It is the same designer with a different set of designs on the menu, so your palettes, settings and saved files work in both.
Is the helium designer included in my subscription?
Yes. A single BalloonBuilder subscription covers every tool. Free accounts can design bouquets of up to 9 balloons and a top; Entry adds balloon ceilings, Pro adds the simple LOL column and arch, and Full adds print patterns on foil tops.
Can I export a bouquet as a 3D model?
Yes. Every design exports as a GLB 3D model that opens in the BalloonBuilder SceneBuilder, so you can place bouquets, bubble balloons and tables in a room scene for client mockups.
